I’m willing to bet the Canucks start 2017-18 on something like an eight-game hot streak before violently tumbling back to Earth. If you want to stay positive on the Canucks, some of their prospects are putting up points in the preseason (2015 first-round pick Brock Boeser has a team-high six). But this group is built around aging Sedins, guys who will either get hurt or traded away like Thomas Vanek, Loui Eriksson and Sam Gagner, and the ghost of Kevin Bieksa (also known as Alex Edler).
