In most cases, teams play a lot better at home than they do on the road, but that’s not the case for the Calgary Flames. The Flames are 1-3 at home and 3-1 on the road, which suggests that maybe they play better as an underdog. Regardless, new goaltender Mike Smith has been getting a lot of time in net. Posting a GAA of 2.58 and a save percentage of .927, he and the stacked Flames defense will be a handful to get by later in the season. It will be interesting how they intend to use Jaromir Jagr and how much he will play down the stretch.
