The Islanders’ offense has started to come alive, scoring 25 goals in the last seven games. They are 6-3-1 over their last 10 games and have quietly put themselves right in the middle of the playoff race through the quarter point of the season. They capped a good stretch with a big win on Saturday against the league’s best team, the Lightning. John Tavares has been spectacular and is only increasing his stock for his pending free agency at year’s end.
