1. Tampa Bay Lightning

Previous: No. 1

They have failed to collect a point in just three games this entire year. Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov are the top two scorers in the league. Victor Hedman is an early Norris candidate and near the top of the league’s defensemen in points and time on ice. And on top of all of this, Andrei Vasilevskiy is right at the top of the league in both save percentage and goals-against average.

The Lightning are far and away the team to beat through the first quarter of the season. Look at their goal differential. They are No. 1 by almost more than double any other team. They average four goals a night and only surrender 2.5 goals against. If they stay healthy all year, they will be incredibly hard to take down night after night, let alone in four out of seven games come playoff time.
