New Jersey skids into the New Year, going 0-1-1 after a five-game win streak.  The Devils sit just one point behind the Washington Capitals for the division lead in the Metropolitan Division, with two games in hand. Brian Boyle is taking his turn at being the hot stick on the ice.  In his last 10 games, he has gathered nine points (4G, 5A).  Cory Schneider has also been hot during that time.  He is 6-1-2 with a .922 save percentage and a 2.32 goals-against average.
