The Rockford IceHogs, the Chicago Blackhawks’ AHL affiliate, host the Manitoba Moose tonight for Game 3 of the second round of the Calder Cup Playoffs

The Chicago Blackhawks’ AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs, hosted a media day Tuesday, a day before their AHL playoffs Game 3 matchup with the Manitoba Moose.

Here’s head coach Jeremy Colliton and goaltender Collin Delia talking about tonight’s matchup.  The IceHogs lead the series 2-0.

In Blackhawks news, Eddie Olczyk joined Pat Boyle on the Blackhawks Talk podcast and discussed the NHL playoffs and what the Blackhawks need to get back there.

Olczyk emphasizes improving the defense to compete with the rest of the division and reaching the 98-point mark.

In NHL news, the Washington Capitals finally beat the Pittsburgh Penguins and advanced to the Eastern Conference final.  Our very own Tim Martens wrote an article about the Blackhawks still being the team of the 2010s.

With one more year left in the decade, the Penguins could still catch the ‘Hawks at three Stanley Cup wins, but achieving back-to-back cups is still impressive.

Happy Wednesday!
