Esa Lindell

Esa Lindell, of the Dallas Stars, is an underrated left-handed defenseman who stands at 6’3″ 215 lbs. Lindell is a big-bodied defensive defenseman which is definitely something the Blackhawks have been missing for a while.

Even though he’s more defensively gifted, Lindell has seen his point totals increase every season. This season, he posted career highs in just about every major offensive and defensive category including goals, assists, points, ATOI, shot blocks, and hits. Not including his 1st NHL season, Lindell has blocked 119+ shots every year — that’s fantastic.

Even though Esa Lindell is a bigger defenseman, he still moves fairly well with good agility. His entire skillset is on display in this highlight reel. He would fit in really well with this Blackhawks team.

Esa Lindell is currently playing out a 1-year, $2.2 mil AAV deal. You can expect Lindell to land in the $4,227,438 – $6,341,152 tier which would cost one 1st round pick and one 3rd round pick. That’s a relatively fair price for what he can bring to the table.
