6 Blackhawks Players Who Are Currently on the Hot Seat

John Hayden
John Hayden was once thought of as a potential replacement for Andrew Shaw, but that hasn’t quite panned out. Now, with the addition and emergence of Drake Caggiula during the 2018-19 NHL season, Hayden has become expendable.
Hayden has been in a tough spot ever since joining the Blackhawks. He never found a steady role or line to play on. Over the past 3 seasons, Hayden has only played in 113 games out of a possible 246 games.
Bouncing in and out of the lineup certainly hasn’t helped him in any way, but Hayden also hasn’t taken advantage of his playing time.
John Hayden just never seemed to fit in, so maybe a change of scenery will do him some good. Hayden isn’t worth a ton, but the Blackhawks could always use more draft picks. They could also package him with another player such as Anisimov to maximize their return.
