5 Best August-Born Players in Chicago Blackhawks’ History

2. Bill White — 8/26/39
While some of the younger Blackhawks fans may not recognize the name, Bill White had one of the best runs as a Chicago Blackhawks’ defenseman.
In three consecutive seasons (1971-1974), White finished 3rd in voting for the James Norris Memorial Trophy.
At the time, Bill White was competing with a young Bobby Orr, a young Brad Park, and a young Guy Lapointe. With that in mind, his three straight 3rd place finishes look a lot more respectable.
During his 7 years in Chicago, he racked up 179 points (30G, 149A) with a 181 ± rating in 415 games.
To go along with that stat line, White was also an NHL All-Star four times with the Blackhawks. It’s hard to argue with that type of success.
