2010 – Kevin Hayes

Blackhawks’ legend, Kevin Hayes, was drafted 24th overall by the team in the 2010 NHL Draft. He never played a game with the team, as he pulled the old draft and run maneuver. After being drafted in 2010, Hayes opted to play for Boston College and held off signing with the team.

Hayes opted to become a free agent and signed with the New York Rangers. Instead, he played 5 years with New York before being traded to the Winnipeg Jets midway through last season.

Hayes would have been the Blackhawks’ first successful pick under Stan Bowman, seeing that he did register 229 points throughout his career.
