2012 – Teuvo Teravainen
Chicago selected Teuvo Teravainen with the 18th overall pick in the 2012 NHL Draft. Then, one year removed from winning the Cup in his rookie season, Chicago traded Teuvo, as a sweetener, to the Carolina Hurricanes just to unload Bryan Bickell’s horrible contract.
Probably the worst trade sweetener of all time... we miss you, Teuvo ? ?#Blackhawks #HockeyTwitter #NHL https://t.co/LAOlZin65S pic.twitter.com/x7ng4jFSEh

Teuvo Teravainen was the most talented first-round pick Stan Bowman had selected at that time. It’s a shame he isn’t still wearing a Blackhawks jersey. Teraviainen has developed into a great top-6 player for the Hurricanes.
