2018-19 – At Ottawa Senators, win 4-3 OT

The season opener from last season tells the story for the 2018-19 season. The Blackhawks were playing a really bad team in the Ottawa Senators and they failed to blow them out.

Alex DeBrincat scored the first goal of the season for Chicago and he would go on to score many more. DeBrincat registered 41 goals in the 2018-19 season, the most of his short career so far.

The Blackhawks won the game, but they would go on to lose the season, after missing the playoffs for the second consecutive season.

The Chicago Blackhawks’ season opener in 2018-19 showcased how little the Blackhawks had defensively. Getting scored on 3 times by the eventual worst team in the NHL is not exactly a great showing.
