4.  Bill Zito

More from Blackhawk Up

This is very much a long shot, but Bill Zito has been preparing for a role as general manager for years in Columbus. He was also a candidate closely considered for the Seattle GM position.

A Yale graduate and attorney, Zito is the founder of Acme World Sports and has represented numerous NHL players as an agent since it’s inception. He helped set precedents on many of the contracts he negotiated; such as an 8-year, $56 million deal for Tuukka Rask in 2013.

Zito joined the Blue Jackets organization in 2013, and was later appointed general manager of their AHL affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters.

All four of the previously mentioned people would make strong candidates if the Chicago Blackhawks were to make a GM change. That change could be coming sooner rather than later.
