2017-18 Season

July 12th, 2018 CHI receives Marcus Kruger Andrew Campbell Jordan Maletta and Mackenzie Entwist from Arizona for Jordan Oesterle Marian Hossa and Vinnie Hinostroza

Jordan Oesterle and Vinnie Hinostroza have become great depth players in Arizona, with Oesterle actually playing in the top 4. I know Chicago was trying to get rid of the Hossa contract and had to give up some assets, but none of the players Chicago brought in are still on the team.

July 1st, 2018 Chris Kunitz signs a one year contract with Chicago

The solution when the Blackhawks get swept by the Nashville Predators in the first round of the playoffs is not to bring in a veteran like Chris Kunitz who could not skate or play well anymore. Sorry, Bowman but what were you thinking with that move? Oh, you were thinking Joel likes veteran players, not young guys. Nice excuse when Quenneville gets fired a year later.

July 1st, 2018 Brandon Manning signs a two-year contract with Chicago worth 2.5 million

Brandon Manning should have been a bigger issue for the Blackhawks. If the team ended up not pawning him away to Edmonton just 5 months after signing a contract I probably would have spent more time talking about how bad of a contract this was.
