I do not understand the power play at this point.

The Chicago Blackhawks did not register a power-play goal on either of their two power-play opportunities. While we did win the game, the Blackhawks should always be looking to improve. One way to improve would be fixing the power play lines.

I like the Kubalik-Kane pairing on the wings, those two are doing a great job at finding each other open, and if it was not for a few misses on the puck by Kubalik maybe we would have registered a goal. I just do not like seeing Alex DeBrincat playing down low and trying to screen the opposing team’s goalie.

DeBrincat is not a big guy, and he is not going to find a way to get this team a win scratching for a goal in front of the goalie. I would honestly rather have him on the wing despite the fact that Kubalik has so many goals this season. I think the Blackhawks should move DeBrincat down a line on the power play and maybe give a player like Dach a shot.

Dach has size and skill, and maybe playing in the slot will help improve his game. I think right now is all about improving. I like seeing the team win as much as the next Blackhawks fan, but I do not want to get my hopes up too high. The playoffs are a reach even if we keep winning.

Only time will tell what the Blackhawks fate is going to be this season, but one thing is for sure. The future is definitely looking uphill!
