The Chicago Blackhawks took stand on home ice and beat the Oilers 4-3. After an exciting game, here are my five thoughts.

5. Chicago Blackhawks need to play a full 60 minutes

The Chicago Blackhawks have lost a few games this season in the third period, after being up multiple goals to start it. Tonight, they almost blew a 4-1 lead going into the third period.

The Blackhawks had a great start to the game. They looked good in the first period and great in the second. The third period seemed sluggish for the team, as they never really found any offensive success.

In tomorrow’s game against Detroit, they need to find that consistent play. They’re not going to beat the good teams playing average throughout the third period. You can’t win a game in the first period but you can certainly lose one.

Still, the team put together their fourth win in a row. As they improve as a team, playing a full 60 minutes will come with that. The last 15 games will be their mini-playoffs. If the Blackhawks are going to make the playoffs, they have to get past their mini-playoffs first.

This team is very streaky, they’re on a roll right now. This is getting good.
