The Chicago Blackhawks have had many fantastic players throughout their almost 100-year team history. Here are the best per position.
Stan Mikita – Center
Stan Mikita is the all-time leader in assists and points for the Chicago Blackhawks. Mikita played with the team for 22 seasons, edging his name into franchise history forever.
Mikita joined the team in 1959 at age 18 and stayed with the Blackhawks until 1980 when he retired at age 39. In his career, he was apart of the 1961 Stanley Cup roster, he won two Byng Trophies, two Hart Trophies, four Art Ross Trophies, and was an All-Star eight times.
The 5-foot-9 center had 16 career hat tricks, two penalty shot goals, and 84 game-winning goals.
He retired playing in 1396 games, scoring 541 goals, racking up 926 assists for a total of 1,467 career points. In the playoffs, Mikita played in 155 games, scoring 59 goals with 91 assists for 150 points.
Unfortunately, Mikita passed away back in August of 2018. The Blackhawks would wear a patch with the number 21 on their jerseys throughout the entire 2018-19 NHL season.
