When you look back at the Chicago Blackhawks’ success in the 2010s you can not help but smile. The team brought in three Stanley Cup and a presidents trophy, but that still does not mean there were no mistakes.

I think it is important to tip your hat where credit is due. Stan Bowman helped to bring the Stanley Cup to Chicago in 2013, and 2015. He managed to retool that 2010 team and create another championship unit in 2013. He managed to bring in one of the best trade deadline deals in Antoine Vermette, and he signed a great free agent in Artemi Panarin. However, that does not mean clear him for some of the bigger mistakes.

The issues we are going to be discussing today might be the reason the Blackhawks are in the position they are now. If it was not for these five mistakes we might still be watching as dominate of a Blackhawks team as we saw throughout the early part of the 2010s.

So without further ado, lets jump right in with five biggest mistakes from throughout the 2010s.
