Ben Smith

Ben Smith might not have had the most electric career in Chicago. He was a member of the 2013 Stanley Cup Champions Blackhawks and was apart of the trade that brought Andrew Desjardins to Chicago in 2015.

I think Smith was a great penalty killer for the Blackhawks, and I think he was a great depth player in Chicago. In 2014 he put up 26 points, including 14 goals. Those numbers might not be that high, but at the same time, it is great for a bottom-six forward on a very inexpensive contract.

It was players like Smith that helped win the Blackhawks their Stanley Cups, even if he was not apart of the team come playoff time in 2015. Smith still, I believe, earned a ring for the 2015 championship because of how many games he played in the regular season. While it might not mean as much to him, it does mean enough to me to put him on this list.
