Malcolm Subban

There’s no chance Malcolm Subban stays on the team, even if he was free. The Blackhawks traded for him in the Robin Lehner trade, but they had no intention of using him unless Crawford got hurt.

Crawford didn’t get hurt, and Subban saw little action, with 30-minutes of his career with the ‘Hawks being spent in a meaning-less game against the Blues. He’s not coming back, there’s just no chance.

As an RFA, the Blackhawks could trade him for a late draft pick to a team looking for a backup goalie to sign. It is a steal deal for that team and gets Subban off of the Blackhawks back. It’s better to give the net to Collin Delia than Subban, trust me.

He seems like a nice kid and all, but he isn’t going to be the starting goalie for the Blackhawks. Heck, he might not even be the starting goalie for any NHL team in 2020-21.
