The Chicago Blackhawks that might not be back next season

Dylan Strome

While I think that Dylan Strome deserves another chance with the Blackhawks and Alex DeBrincat, the salary cap might have other ideas. Strome is expendable thanks to the great play of Kirby Dach.

The Blackhawks have two solid centers in Jonathan Toews and Kirby Dach but outside of them, the play begins to drop. I really do not think Ryan Carpenter or Zack Smith is the option for the Blackhawks a few years down the line. Even still, it is not a guarantee that Strome stays.

Chicago is going to need Strome to sign a bridge deal to stay in Chicago. Anything over two million is going to be too much, but who knows whether or not Strome will stick around for that little of money.

The Blackhawks have created a substantial salary cap debacle for this season, and the only way they are going to fix it is going to be through trading players away. Otherwise, they are not going to be able to keep Strome and the next player on this list.
