6 Pierre Pilote
Pierre Pilote was a force to be reckoned with for a long time with the Chicago Blackhawks. Over the course of his entire 13-year career with the then Black Hawks, Pilote scored 77 goals and registered 400 assists with the team. He was a Norris Trophy winner three years in a row from 1963 through 1965. Only three other defensemen have won three years in a row.
Pilote served as captain for the Blackhawks and won the Stanley Cup with Chicago in1961. Pilote’s number three was retired by the Blackhawks along with Keith Magnuson, who also wore the number.
5 Duncan Keith
The two best defensemen in Blackhawks history go back to back on this list. Duncan Keith has done it all with the Blackhawks. Since joining the team in 2005 Keith has been a big part of the Blackhawks blue line.
Duncan Keith might climb even higher on this list with more time. His legacy is not done yet, and his resume is already amazing. Keith has won three Stanley Cups, two Norris Trophies, a Conn Smythe Trophy, and was a member of the top 100 players of all time.
Keith is the best defenseman in Blackhawks’ history. Throughout his entire career, he has been a top-pairing defenseman with this team. He has one of the best contracts in the Salary Cap era and is going into the hockey hall of fame someday as a Blackhawk.
