The Chicago Blackhawks season should be almost a month away, and there are a lot of different scenarios with how the year will finish.

Chicago is not the best team in the NHL anymore. More so than ever before the Blackhawks have a lot of uncertainty revolving around their standing in the league and the record they will earn.

While I do not think Chicago is going to come out and push for the Stanley Cup next season, it is important to track out a few different scenarios for how the ‘Hawks season will go assuming they do have a season.

This won’t be a list of scenarios that include Chicago going on another winning streak to start the season similar to 2013. Rather I am just going to look at four different scenarios for next season that could potentially happen, but some hybrid or mix of these things could occur next season instead.

Scenario One: Lottery Team

This is definitely the most likely option for the Chicago Blackhawks next season. While the young roster is definitely going to show some shines of great play, I do believe a draft lottery finish is likely for the Blackhawks.

While it is not fun to watch your favorite team lose, at least that could mean Chicago will add a high-end prospect. Think of how different the Blackhawks future already looks thanks to Kirby Dach landing in Chicago because of the lottery draft in 2019. This rebuild would be sped up dramatically thanks to another lottery pick this coming season.

I do not think Chicago is going to let themselves get embarrassed, but I also do not think they have the depth and the talent to really be a wildcard or playoff team next season.
