8. When does Marian Hossa get his number retired?
And Brent Seabrook and Patrick Sharp and Corey Crawford. Alright, the Blackhawks are not going to retire every player’s number that ever won a Stanley Cup with them. However, the argument can be made for Brent Seabrook, Marian Hossa, Patrick Sharp, and Corey Crawford. Hossa Sharp and Seabrook were a part of that core group that won three Stanley Cups together. Not many guys have done that in their careers and those guys deserve a banner in the stands next to their three championship ones.
Corey Crawford also has an interesting case to be made. This was the first season since 2011 that did not feature Corey Crawford in the starting net. He was the Blackhawks guy for ten years and led the team to two Stanley Cups.
Goaltending does not get enough appreciation sometimes. Crawford is one of the top three goalies in the Blackhawks franchise and I hope they never let anyone where number 50 again.
This originally started with Marian Hossa, a soon-to-be member of the hockey hall of fame. No one is going to wear number 81 in Chicago for a long time, they might as well just put one in the rafters for Hossa now.
9. Do the Blackhawks make any changes to their coaching staff?
There are candidates around the league right now to be the Blackhawks next head coach or even assistant coach. This Blackhawks season had many ups but the fact that the team did not compete in games that were supposed to be close must-wins proves maybe the coaching staff is not up to the challenge.
No one’s job is ever really safe, if Joel Quenneville can get fired then I guess Colliton or anyone else really can as well. Oh unless your first name is Stan and last name is Bowman. Then you can do whatever for as long as you want.
