Who stays and who goes?

Here is the complete list of players within the Chicago Blackhawks organization that do not have a contract for next year via CapFriendly.

Vinnie Hinostroza

David Kampf

Adam Gaudette

Pius Suter

Brandon Hagel

Nikita Zadorov

Alex Nylander

Zack Smith

John Quenneville

Anton Lindholm

Brandon Pirri

One would imagine that some of these players will not be back next season. The Blackhawks do not have a lot of cap space to work with and they are going to have to be cautious with who they hand out contracts to. Personally, I think some players are going to have to take cheaper deals than they would like, but that is also due to the market of where things are at around the league.

Of the players on this list, I think we will definitely see Suter, Hagel, Hinostroza, Kampf, and Nylander back next season. Zadorov is the only other player that I also wouldn’t be shocked if he returned, but it would have to be on a team-friendly deal. Zadorov is not likely going to get more than three million again.
