2. The Team Needs Help Elsewhere.

The Blackhawks have a ton of forwards. Most are not proven, but still, they have a ton of forwards. While I wouldn’t mind seeing Strome get one more chance with the team, he is honestly similar to Mitch Trubisky in the sense that his clock has run out.

Strome getting traded would allow the team to maybe net a defenseman in return. Personally, I look at Ethan Bear in Edmonton as a solid option in a trade. Bear is a great young defenseman on a team that does not have a lot of forward depth. Strome would be a great number two or number three center on the Edmonton Oilers.

While it would be a little bit of a risk adding Strome on a team and giving him that much responsibility, it would give him one more chance to show he belongs in the league and can play on a good team.

Plus considering Edmonton’s top opponents are always against Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid, Strome should have a pretty good shot at making a difference on their roster.

The Blackhawks need a defenseman that can turn into the number one guy. I don’t know if Bear is going to be that someday, but he probably has a better chance than some of the defensemen currently on the roster.
