Antti Raanta

Antti Raanta already had a stint with the Chicago Blackhawks once before.

It would be a fitting off-season move to bring back a former Chicago Blackhawk. Raanta would fit that mold while also being a good addition to a team looking for a goalie that can play 40 to 50 games.

Raanta fits the mold for the Blackhawks. Lankinen could be the starter, but he probably would benefit from having another goalie that can play a lot of games as well. So Raanta and Lankinen can split the net throughout the season for the first three or four months and then they can ride whoever is hotter down the last stretch of the season.

Raanta is 32 though and is coming off a 4.25 million dollar contract. It is probably unlikely that he is willing to take a pay cut to come back to Chicago, but hey an offer wouldn’t hurt.

It is worth noting that Raanta has missed time in the past with injuries, so if that is the case still having a guy like Delia or Subban in the organization would be great should Raanta get injured.
