The next group are building block players. These players are potential foundational pieces, for the ‘Hawks or other teams.
Kirby Dach: The ‘Hawks view him as a future #1 Center. He plays hard at both ends of the ice, and is developing as a scorer and playmaker. He has good size, is a good enough skater, and has a ton of confidence. Teams would be very interested in a 20-year-old big C with 80+ NHL games to his credit, and another year on an entry-level deal.
Adam Boqvist: The ‘Hawks are planning on Boqvist running their power play for the foreseeable future, and he is still very young and improving. Whether he can be a top pairing D remains to be seen (I am skeptical), he is also a 20-year old with 75+ games, and Defensemen take longer to develop than F.
Connor Murphy: By far the best Defenseman the ‘Hawks have on the right side in the organization. Has good size, skates pretty well, and does all the things you need a shutdown Defenseman to do. There is always high demand for players like Murphy, and his age and salary are positives, not negatives.
