January 24th, 2019: Chicago trades 2019 fifth-round pick to the Los Angeles Kings for the rights to Dominik Kubalik

This trade is one of my favorites on this list. The Blackhawks sent a 2019 fifth-round pick to the Los Angeles Kings for the rights to sign Dominik Kubalik. The rest is history.

Kubalik has become an instant hit on the Blackhawks after two really strong seasons he will probably be a big piece of the team for years to come assuming he can keep the course.

Kubalik has 84 points including 47 goals over the course of 124 games in the NHL. He was a runner-up for the Calder trophy after the 2019-20 season and he has been a big part of the team.

While I do think Kubalik does have some ways to go before he can be a top player in the NHL, he definitely has shown his offensive skill. Hopefully, he can play a more complete game and help out in his own end as well.
