David Kampf (F)

David Kampf is not really someone I thought about going into the expansion draft. I didn’t think the Blackhawks would protect him, I figured a team like Seattle wouldn’t take Kampf. However, Chicago using one of their spots on Kampf shows this team is committed to him for the future.

Kampf has been a great force in the bottom six. With Jonathan Toews out of the lineup this past season it was Kampf that took most of the faceoffs. He is an underrated piece in the Blackhawks roster, and he is someone they definitely can not afford to lose in an expansion draft.

Kampf might not score amazing goals or register crazy amounts of points, but he might be one of the most important parts of this team.

Patrick Kane (F)

This Patrick Kane guy seems to be pretty good at hockey. Kane is one of only two players on this list to make it on both expansion protection lists. The other is Jonathan Toews. What else needs to be said about Patrick Kane? Of course, this team would protect him. Any franchise would take Kane away in a heartbeat if they had an opportunity. That reason alone kind of is why I question why Montreal would let their start goalie get exposed.
