Dylan Strome (F)

Dylan Strome might not be in the best of favor right now with the Blackhawks, but he is still someone that you want on a protection list.

Strome did not have the best season last year, and his spot in the lineup continues to drop every time he has been on the ice, but he is still young and does have value. The Blackhawks cannot afford to lose someone as valuable as Strome in an expansion draft.

The team made the right call protecting him as he is one bounce-back year away from being a critical piece in the team’s core.

Jonathan Toews (F)

Jonathan Toews missed all of last season, and yet of course this team would have to protect him. Even if Toews didn’t have the no-movement clause, Chicago would definitely decide to protect him. This is their captain and future hall of fame centerman.

Toews might not have that many years at an elite level, but I definitely think he should be given a chance to show what he is made of next season in Chicago.
