Three players the Blackhawks need to extend now
The Chicago Blackhawks season is not for another month, so today let’s highlight a little bit of work the team should get done now as they wait for the new season.
Stan Bowman and the Chicago Blackhawks traded for Seth Jones before the NHL Draft, then on the first day they could, Jones signed an eight-year extension that will begin next season. I think the team should do something like that with a few more players.
This team is going to hopefully be better this season. The roster is deeper than ever and the talent the team added this offseason is better than we have seen the past few seasons. So, a good year is definitely on the horizon.
Players are going to be putting up better numbers than they have in the past in part because the roster is more competitive. So a guy like Kirby Dach could have an offensive explosion and so could other players on the roster like Kubalik or Strome.
Players are going to want to bet on themselves that they have good seasons, so that is why Stan Bowman should try and get a few contract extensions out of the way now so they do not have to worry about them later.
I wouldn’t mind the team extending any of the players playing for a contract, but today I am only going to highlight three different players that should get extensions before the season begins. Let’s jump in with the first name on the list.
