3. The New York Rangers
The New York Rangers would be one of the more interesting teams to mention on a potential Strome trade. They do not have a lot of depth at center, and they have Dylan Strome’s brother. Maybe adding Dylan to their lineup would help make both him and Ryan better throughout the season.
Dylan Strome would also be able to fit within the team cap-wise, and it would help fix an issue that the Rangers have, a lack of depth down the middle. New York also has a lot of different young defensive prospects that could go the other way in the move.
One defenseman that could go the other way is Nils Lundqvist, but seeing that he is almost NHL ready and spent time in the NHL next season maybe they would be better off adding a draft pick or an offensive prospect.
"Blackhawks: Ten most successful coaches in franchise history"
Trading Dylan Strome gives the Blackhawks an opportunity to add a draft pick or prospect to their organization. If the team does not see Strome as a part of the long-term answer then they should trade him in order to add to their success down the line. Having him on the bench or in the rafters scratched watching the game doesn’t do much to help the team.
The fact that a trade has not happened yet makes me think we won’t see one at all until later in the year, but anything can happen.
