2. The Return of Jonathan Toews

The captain should hopefully be back this season, and if he is that will be great news for the team. The Blackhawks were without their captain in 2021 and while they did their best to play competitive hockey all season, there was no doubt that they were going to fall out of the postseason and struggle at some point.

Toews is the backbone of this team. He plays in every situation and is someone that the Hawks are always counting on to be one of their best players. Getting him back this season is like trading for an all-star player. His addition will definitely help the team.

It will be interesting to watch how Toews does this season due to the fact a lot of the team has never played with him before. Guys like Hagel, Kurashev, Kalynuk, Stillman, and all the new additions from this offseason will now play with the captain for the first time.

If Jonathan Toews comes back and is the player we all remember then there is a chance they can compete for the Stanley Cup during the next couple of years, but if he is not the guy he once was this team will be in trouble.
