8. Seth Jones Take Over

The Seth Jones take-over began when the team first announced they had traded for him before the NHL Draft. I still cannot believe the Blackhawks have such a big name on their back end again. Now they can begin to build their next championship team, and it starts with Jones.

Seth Jones is the third highest-paid player on the Blackhawks, behind only Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. He does have the longest contract and in a few years, he probably will be the highest-paid player as well.

For this season to be a success it starts with Jones being the elite top defenseman that Stan Bowman believed him to be when he went out and traded for him. If he can play at his best every night and give his best effort then the team will be in good shape no matter the outcome as Jones is expected to be that guy for a long time in this city.
