2020-21 Season: Away Start Against The Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Blackhawks once again started the season on the road against the Lightning in 2020-21, the first game, which I do not think anyone has forgotten yet, was against the Tampa Bay Lightning the defending champions.

Tampa easily controlled the Blackhawks and the Bolts won the game 5-1, now the one goal for the Hawks belongs to Dylan Strome who scored in the third period of that game. Strome at the time was thought to be the guy for the team last year. Without Toews and Dach, Strome had the opportunity to make himself untouchable in the lineup, now he cannot find a spot and is a healthy scratch.

The only goal of the opener was assisted by Andrew Shaw and Adam Boqvist, two players that are no longer on the team. Shaw has retired due to concussion issues, while Boqvist was traded to the Blue Jackets. Crazy to think what this next group of first point-getters could be at in a few years.
