2. Seth Jones
Seth Jones is arguably having the best numbers of his NHL career. He has 11 assists in 13 games, and his Corsi and Fenwick numbers are at a level he has not seen since 2017-18. The top defenseman is doing what he can to help the team win, but he needs to do more.
The Blackhawks gave up a first-round pick that might come back to haunt them if they do not start winning more games and at least make it a midround pick rather than an early pick in the draft. Seth Jones and the Hawks need to do better and five on five and start limiting the defensive zone mistakes. That all starts with Jones.
The Chicago Blackhawks have a lot of hockey left with Seth Jones, not just this season but for years to come. I think when fans look back on this contract it is not going to be completely bitter, Jones is a good defenseman the team will rely on for many years to come. He just needs to find another level right now as they shift systems with a new head coach.
