Chicago Blackhawks Vs Carolina Hurricanes: TV Listings, Predictions, & More

The Chicago Blackhawks are set up to make a run at the Central Division crown, but they will need to get hot and take care of opponents that they should beat in the final month of the season.  Tonight is one of those opportunities when they travel to North Carolina to face-off against the Carolina Hurricanes in a road game that they need to win, pick up 2 points and head on to the next stop on their road trip.

The Chicago Blackhawks really put on a clinic Saturday night on how not to show up for a big game when they had a chance to move up in the standings.  They played without heart and hustle and really only Marian Hossa looked like he was ready to play 60 minutes Saturday night. This was a very disappointing effort from the Hawks who knew before they stepped on the ice that St. Louis had been beaten soundly by the Minnesota Wild earlier in the day.

The other question facing the Chicago Blackhawks is were does the scoring come from when the top line is shut down.  The Blackhawks scored 10 goals in 2 games and then promptly scored 1 goal in the last 2 games.  It does seem like the past month every goalie they run into is red hot, but that is to be expected this time of the year when teams are making their playoff push. The problem is the Antoine Vermette and Brad Richards lines are not putting pucks in the net so if the Toews line is shut down, it’s a really long night hoping for pucks to get past the opponents goalie.

The Hurricanes are playing out the string while playing playoff spoiler.  The Hawks beat them earlier this season pretty handily at the United Center but they have always played the Hawks tough in their own building.  Here is the viewing information for tonight’s game from Raleigh, North Carolina.

Now on to the predictions, and since I got home late before the Stars game, I saved myself from making a terrible prediction one that wouldn’t have said 4-0 Stars so there is that! For tonight I see the offense coming back around and total team effort with the Vermette line getting on track with goals from both Antoine Vermette and Teuvo Teravainen in a 5-2 Chicago Blackahwks victory.
