Another week and another #1 Star of the NHL for Patrick Kane.  In a special season for the Chicago Blackhawks star, it seems like this is becoming routine for Patrick Kane to get named one of the Stars of the week again.  It sure doesn’t get old talking about how special the 2nd line has been all year long, and Kane has been the biggest beneficiary of that play.

It’s hard to believe that Kane could have this great of a season if you asked anyone back in August what to expect from Kane.  He was investigated for something that he was never charged with, and he said he didn’t skate at all during the offseason, but his play from opening night hasn’t shown any rust at all.

Kane has scored in every game but 6 of them including a franchise best 26 straight games, and he leads the NHL in goals (29) Assists (40) and Points (69).  This award is for the week and it was of course another banner week for Kane with him leading the NHL in scoring for the week scoring 4 times with 3 assists.  He also during the week picked up his first regular season hat trick in Toronto on Friday night.

The Chicago Blackhawks are on an 11 game winning streak which most fans can always point to Kane and his linemates Artemi Panarin and Artem Anisimov.  These three have dominated the Chicago Blackhawks offense for the entire season with Panarin leading all rookies in the NHL with 16 goals 27 assists and 43 points while Anisimov has been the 2nd line center that the Chicago Blackhawks and Patrick Kane have been missing for 5 seasons or more.  The combination of the three has been one fun show to watch with all of them perfect compliments of the other.

The real reason for the winning streak has been the fact that the Chicago Blackhawks have finally started receiving some scoring from others including the top line of Jonathan Toews and Marian Hossa who appear to be heating up.  It’s kind of ironic that I was thinking last night that if Toews could have squeezed in a third goal last night he could make the Three Stars of the NHL.  The other scoring has made the Blackhawks a tough team to beat with the Kane line still producing at a very high level.

The other stars of the week were Sam Bennett from the Calgary Flames who scored 6 goals this past week including a 4 goal game, and Anze Kopitar who signed a huge extension and scored twice with 5 assists this week.

Patrick Kane is your #1 Star of the Week again and it seems like there will be huge hardware coming his way at the end of the season.
