Good Morning Chicago Blackhawks Fans!

The Chicago Blackhawks are now off playing golf and relaxing for a few months while we sit here and reminisce about what could have been and what should have been if the Chicago Blackhawks could have possibly scored one more goal in any of their 4 losses in the Stanley Cup playoff opening round.   They didn’t come through and now we are off to speculation land.

The Chicago Blackhawks signed one of their former draft picks Luke Johnson signed a three year contract on Friday so now the speculation turns to his teammate at the University of North Dakota Nick Schmaltz and whether he will leave school early or will be return to ND.

The Hawks are in need of building from within according to GM Stan Bowman and a Schmaltz addition would be a step in the right direction for Stan’s new path. The problem of course with Stan’s build from within program is that the Chicago Blackhawks have given away their first round pick the past two seasons.  So as Chicago Blackhawks fans we really need to hope we find a bunch of Andrew Shaw‘s in the rough of the late rounds to fill in the roles with the team in the next few years.
