Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! Stan Bowman made his first move of the offseason by firing Assistant Coach Mike Kitchen, and it appears that Coach Joel Quenneville is not happy about the surprise move by the Hawks GM.

My first thought about Coach Q when the news broke that Mike Kitchen was relieved of his duties was how mad he must be if he wasn’t involved in the decision, and by all accounts he wasn’t.

Stan Bowman said that basically no one job was safe, and it seemed weird that Mike Kitchen of all people was the first to go especially since he’s been Coach Q’s best man for 2 decades.

When Bowman said he was changing things up, I thought for sure he meant he was going to try and move a big contract like Brent Seabrooks.

Usually these kind of things don’t end up well, and if you are hearing grumblings that Coach Q isn’t happy only hours after the decision to fire Kitchen then this could be a summer of a lot of changes within the Chicago Blackhawks coaching staff and roster.
