Nikolaj Ehlers

Adding a player of his skill level would give a big boost to the Blackhawks' offense.

The 29-year old winger is currently scoring at the best pace of his career with 63 points in 66 games on one of the best teams in the NHL.

In his 671 career games, Ehlers has tallied 520 points on a Winnipeg team that has been competitive for the majority of his time in the NHL. He is a highly skilled winger with a strong pace to his game that, in theory, should mesh well with the young talent in Chicago.

Ehlers comes from an organization where he never truly was the top guy on the team, always being more of a high-end secondary scorer to players like Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor. However, he has displayed the talent that would leave many to believe he could reach new heights in a larger role in Chicago.

Ehlers' average ice-time this season comes in at just under 16 minutes per game and has been that way for the past couple of years. His average ice-time this season places him ninth on the team, not including both goaltenders, yet he is still producing at a 75 point pace.

While he is not a big-name offensive talent, the numbers dictate that Nikolaj Ehlers is one of the league's more productive producers who could thrive in a position where he is relied upon more. His skill and creativity would be an exciting pair with Connor Bedard going forward as the Blackhawks look to climb their way out of the basement of the NHL.
