Chicago Blackhawks: 84 Days Until Banner Raising

facebooktwitterreddit

We had so much fun doing our Countdown to Faceoff series last season that we decided to do it again.  In case you’re new to the series, we’ll do a roster preview as we count down the days until the Chicago Blackhawks raise their 6th Stanley Cup Banner on October 7th season opener against the New York Rangers.

We are at the point of our Chicago Blackhawks countdown to banner raising where we hit and miss on jersey numbers, from the mid 80’s until the late 60’s there are a lot of misses on anyone wearing a Chicago Blackhawks jersey.

The good thing is that we are down to 84, and there isn’t much left on the summer calendar for the Chicago Blackhawks.  They have a couple more days of prospect camp, and then the convention, and after that the only thing left will be training camp at the University of Notre Dame.

Since we don’t have any old time or present Chicago Blackhawks wearing the #84 let’s take a stroll down one of the All-time lists, and today we will look at the All-time goal scorers in Chicago Blackhawks history.

Top 10 All-Time Blackhawks Goal Scorers

  1. Bobby Hull-604

Top 10 Active Blackhawks scorers

As you can see Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane are creeping up the All-time list and could possibly be in that Top 10 all-time Chicago Blackhawks goal scorers by this time next summer.

More from All Time Blackhawks

In our countdown of the Top 100 Chicago Blackhawks of All-time we ranked Jeff Shantz at #84. He played for the Chicago Blackhawks during the dark ages and yet made a name for himself. Here is what we said about him last summer.

"Jeff Shantz Blackhawks Statistics:Games: 312Goals :36Assists: 80Points: 116Plus/Minus: 19Penalty Minutes: 155 Postseason:Games 44:Goals: 5Assists: 8Points: 13Plus/Minus 1Penalty Minutes: 24Most Blackhawks fans will remember that Shantz was the 36th overall pick in the 1992 draft. After six seasons in Chicago, he was traded to the Calgary Flames with Steve Dubinsky for Marty McMinnis, Jamie Allison, and Eric Andersson. Jamie Allison was the only player to play for the Blackhawks and was not very good.Shantz was a WHL East First All-Star Team in 1993. He would play with the Flames and Avalanche after the Blackhawks. He never reached the postseason again. He did prolong his career in the Swiss leagues until 2005."

There you have it!! 16 days down only 84 more to go in our countdown to the 6th Stanley Cup banner being raised in Chicago Blackhawks history!   Are you excited?
