Jonathan Toews Picks Up 600th Career Point
Chicago Blackhawks Captain keeps climbing up the franchise’s record book which included picking up career point #600 tonight.
Jonathan Toewshas been the Captain for the Blackhawks since after his first full season with the Chicago Blackhawks, and in that time he has hoisted the Stanley Cup 3 times.
This has to be the best thing about the Captain’s career with the Chicago Blackhawks. Breaking a 49 year drought, and being able to win the Stanley Cup 3 times in 6 seasons makes him the greatest Captain in Chicago Blackhawks history.
Before he was Captain though, he was just a rookie trying to make a name for himself, and that’s exactly what he did in his first game with the Chicago Blackhawks when he scored against the San Jose Sharks at the United Center.
That’s a highlight and actually a few highlights in that clip that you always remember about watching the young Toews on the ice. Now, Toews hasn’t been piling up points like he used to, but he’s still very consistent. Toews has scored 28 goals the last 3 seasons, but he will really have to catch a heater to get to 28 this season with him at 11 with only 25 games left in the season.

I still think he should have won the Hart trophy in the 2013 shortened season as he was a point a game player while being the best defensive forward in the game. Granted this has nothing to do with career points, but even though to me he’s a Hall of Famer, he should have had a Hart trophy on his resume.
Toews is now only the 9th player in Chicago Blackhawks franchise history to pick up 600 career points. Here is the 600 point Club.

So congratulations to the Captain for hitting this milestone, and no matter how many points he picks up we should all thank him every day for all of the Stanley Cups he’s hoisted which we all hope ends up being more than 3!
