  • Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks are finally in the home stretch with only 10 games left before the Stanley Cup playoffs kick off!

Joel Quenneville loves winning more than anything, but it’s good to see he’s resting players already with the finish line in sight.

Last night he let Marian Hossa who I’m sure would have been in the lineup if this was a playoff game have the night off, and he gave Johnny Oduya another night off when the Hawks are playing back to back games.

The good news before the Hawks game ended was the fact that the Minnesota Wild had lost their 5th straight game which made resting some of the Blackhawks veterans easier to take.

Of course, in the end the regular season is pretty meaningless except to make the playoffs or not so who is on the ice and who’s resting makes more sense when the Stanley Cup is the real prize.

Tonight was the last back to back situation for the Hawks with them playing every other night the rest of the way.  I really dislike the compact schedule with the bye week which sets up all these weird schedules, but guess what I don’t have a say in it.
