Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! There was a lot of talk after Game #3 in Nashville about how loud Bridgestone Arena was for the Predators first ever Stanley Cup Final Game which made me think back to the old days of the Chicago Stadium.

I couldn’t find the tweets from the game, but someone had a reading of the noise in Bridgestone Arena which made it the second loudest stadium ever recorded.  I’m sure it was easy to get loud when you score 5 unanswered goals against the Pittsburgh Penguins that’s for sure.

I’ve been in Bridgestone Arena 3 times now, twice for playoff games, and yes it is a very loud arena. It’s funny that the first time I went for a regular season game back in 2015, it was 70 percent red jerseys in the Arena, and Let’s Go Hawks was extremely loud.

Growing up the only Stadium that I knew was Chicago Stadium, and it was so loud in the old barn every time we went to a game.  The old horn that sounded after each goal, the National Anthem, and I remember my little brother always holding his hands over his ears back then.

Those days are of course gone now with the need of extra suites for big bucks, and the coziness of the old Chicago Stadium is long gone for the United Center.  I do remember Michael Jordan talking about how teams knew they were going to lose when they came to the Stadium because they couldn’t deal with the noise levels. I do miss Chicago Stadium though!

Here is the anthem from the All-Star Game to start our day.
