The Chicago Blackhawks came into Nashville feeling good about themselves. They were riding a two-game winning streak, including a victory over the Predators on Tuesday. Teuvo Teravainen was starting to tear it up on the top line, and Patrick Kane had extended his point streak to 23 games.

I wonder if this guy was regretting his decisions after two periods in Nashville.
In the third period, the Blackhawks pushed and pushed hard.
#Blackhawks score. Rinne not happy. Thought he had control of the puck. If it counts, Kane on a 24-game point streak.
— Tracey Myers (@Tramyers_NHL) December 11, 2015
Goal Patrick Kane. 24 game point steak https://t.co/lhoozXTqEm

The score cut the Nashville lead to 3-1 after the Kane goal. That would be the closest the Blackhawks would get, as Neal would score again to essentially ice the game.

Coach Joel Quenneville praised Shaw after the game. He said the first period was the worst period the Blackhawks ever had. The Blackhawks don’t have a long wait in between games. They will take on the Winnipeg Jets at the United Center on Friday night.
