The Chicago Blackhawks extended their winning streak with their sixth straight victory Friday against Buffalo, 3-1. The loss sent the Sabres to their sixth straight loss. The Blackhawks got two goals from two unlikely goal scorers in Niklas Hjalmarsson and Phillip Danault. Danault scored the game winner and his first NHL goal. Jonathan Toews would put in an empty netter for the third goal. Credit must be given to Buffalo goaltender Chad Johnson, who kept the game very close despite his team being outshot 45-29.

I really hope age doesn't catch up with Hossa. He's one of those players that no one wants to see that happen to them.

Pretty sequence by the second line results in prime chance for Kane, but Johnson stops him
— Chris Hine (@ChristopherHine) January 9, 2016
Rob Scuderi with 2 shots on goal in 15 minutes. Only had 6 in first 8 games with #Blackhawks #Notascorer

Ideal #Blackhawks scenario:
— Christopher Kamka (@ckamka) January 9, 2016
6 goals on 40 shots against Sabres goalie Chad Johnson, for a save pct of ocho cinco %
Kane misses on a one-timer. PAK line continues to dominate play, but to no avail.
— Mark Lazerus (@MarkLazerus) January 9, 2016
Kaner doesn't miss those too often.

Terrific puck movement by all 5 skaters set up Hjalmarsson for the goal. Nice set up from Gustafsson
— Tab Bamford (@The1Tab) January 9, 2016
Gustafsson has been a really nice 3rd line d-man addition.

Remember the first game between these two being a big-old snoozefest? This one isn't. #Blackhawks

Chad Tres Uno has 27 saves already for the #Sabres. This game could be out of reach by now if not for him. #Blackhawks
— Mark Lazerus (@MarkLazerus) January 9, 2016
I don't think Danault is going back to Rockford any time soon. Been a great addition.

DANAULTTTTT! First career NHL goal! 2-1 #Blackhawks!
— AJB ?⬇️ (@Arjun_AJB15) January 9, 2016
Phil Danault's a pretty good hockey player.
— Mark Lazerus (@MarkLazerus) January 9, 2016
In case you forgot, Danault was selected with Washington's first round pick they gave up for Troy Brouwer, who they turned into TJ Oshie.
— Greg Boysen (@GregBoysen) January 9, 2016
Yeah, so I'm calling that Desi/Danult/Teuvo line the DDT Line now.
