The Chicago Blackhawks will face the St. Louis Blues in the Stanley Cup playoffs for the 12th time since the Blues joined the NHL in 1967.  The last time these two rivals met was just two years ago when the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the St. Louis Blues in 6 games which included some great overtime action and wins by both teams.

The St. Louis Blues will once again have home ice advantage with them finishing in second place in the Central Division with a record of 49-24-9 for 107 points while the Hawks just finished 4 points behind them with a record of 47-26-9 for 103 points.

This of course should be a real fun series once again like in 2014 when every game but Game #6 could have gone either way with 4 games ending in overtime.

This has been the season of Patrick Kane so far, and in the series in 2014 he was coming back from injury and worked his magic in Game #4 to tie the series up.

The Chicago Blackhawks went on to win the series and went all the way to the Conference Finals before getting knocked out in Game #7 by the LA Kings in overtime.

So there you have it, 7 games to see who advances to play the winner of the Dallas Stars vs Minnesota Wild opening round series.  There is plenty of stars on both teams including Vladimir Tarasenko, Jonathan Toews, and Patrick Kane while there are plenty of players to hate in this rivalry including Ryan Reaves and well from the Blues point of view it has to be Brent Seabrook who took out their Captain David Backes with this huge hit 2 years ago.

Next: Kane Wins The Art Ross

The words wakey wakey from Duncan Keith became famous after this hit. Who knows what memories we will have after this series takes place this year.  I can’t wait!
