Good Morning Chicago Blackhawks Fans!

The Chicago Blackhawks lost a tough one at the United Center yesterday 3-2, and the biggest culprit was self inflicted wounds.  The St. Louis Blues scored 3 goals yesterday, and two of those goals came off shots that were deflected by a Chicago Blackhawks player making it 3 goals so far in the series including David Backes Game #1 overtime winner that has been a bad deflection off a Hawk.  The old saying goes if you’re not going to block it all the way then get out of the way.

It’s the main reason Christian Ehrhoff isn’t in the lineup right now. He’s a good puck moving defenseman, but in one of his first appearances on the ice with the Chicago Blackhawks,  he didn’t truly commit to blocking a shot and it ended up being deflected off of him and into the Hawks net, and ever since that moment Ehrhoff has basically sat up in the pressbox with a really good seat to see all the action.

Let’s give credit where credit is due though, the St. Louis Blues never quit playing on Sunday and were the more aggressive team in the third period. Granted they were helped by a pretty dumb high sticking penalty by Patrick Kane which they cashed in with a very neat tic tac toe passing play for the game winning goal.  The loss just made the Hawks task a little tougher.
